Sara Udina is an architect and urban planner,deputy to the Urban Planning Managerat the Barcelona City Council. As an urban planner, she has develop all kind of plans and projects in order to satisfy the constant need of transformation and renewal of the city of Barcelona. She has more than 10 years’ experience working in the design of the city of Barcelona, while addressing sustainability and resilience issues.
Sara Udina is a passionate advocate for the implementation of sustainability measures in urban planning as well as for the benefits that green infrastructure solutions delivers to cities and its citizens.
As a deputy to the Urban Planning Manager, Sara is involved in all the steps of the planning process: the legal framework of norms and ordinances, the planning design, the management, and also licencing and inspection.
In regard to educational background, Sara took amaster’s degree in Urban planning and Project Design, at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (dissertation pending) and afterwards went into more depth in the field of green infrastructure thanks to the “Urban Forestry and Urban Greening” postgraduate course at Copenhagen University.
Sara Udina ismember of the C40 “Sustainable Urban Development” Network and is a volunteer judge for the Green Flag Award scheme which recognises and rewards the best green spaces in the UK and around the world.
