On Friday, 27th September 2019, the faculty & students of ASADI (Asian School of Architecture and Design Innovations) participated in the Global movement ‘#Fridays for Future’ climate strike which was initiated by an influential 16-year old Swedish girl named Greta Thunberg.

This spectacular event was thoroughly coordinated by students by conducting awareness talks regarding Climate Crisis & the importance of sustainability through paper placards, clay models, and crowns made out of flowers, leaves and so on.

The proud Asadians commenced their march at 1:00 pm from the college towards the Thykoodam Metro hub in full swing by taking the solemn oath that it is their sole responsibility to protect Mother Nature.

The march came to an end at the Kuzhupilli beach at Cherai where they were greeted by two other architectural colleges who also collaborated in the making of a beautiful sand art sculpture conveying Mother Earth’s destruction by the hands of a virus infected octopus that also killed a mermaid in the process.

The awareness program was inaugurated by SI Rasheed, (who is the founder of the Kochi Beach Cleaning Initiative & also the co-associate of the Kochi Muziris Biennale).
